Otterbein University is expanding on-campus counseling services for students.  We are seeking a staff counselor who is a clinically sound, experienced and confident general therapist. This position offers excellent opportunity to contribute meaningfully to new mental health campus initiatives, in concert with established Wellness Services.  

Clinically, we are especially interested in candidates who are strong in their ability to relate comfortably with college aged students and underserved populations, understand students’ unique developmental needs, and maturely balance clinical autonomy with active team collaboration.  Specialization in the modalities of group therapy, educational programming, or community presentations is desirable.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide clinical assessment and treatment for students.
  • Provide urgent care or facilitate emergency interventions to insure student safety.
  • Consult with faculty, staff, parents, students regarding mental health concerns.  
  • Build collaborative relationships campus wide, and with community health care professionals.
  • Assess need and coordinate referrals for comprehensive treatment.
  • Participate in continuing educational efforts.
  • Attend staff meetings and assist Director with administrative responsibilities.
  • Serve on departmental and university committees.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of new services, as appropriate.
  • Actively participate in periodic service evaluations.
  •  Maintain timely clinical documentation within a secure electronic records program.

COURT FORENSIC PSYCHOLOGIST:

The Court Psychiatric Clinic of the Cuyahoga County (Cleveland, Ohio) Common Pleas Court is accepting applications for a full-time (40 hours per week) Forensic Psychologist to join its professional staff.  The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting court-ordered forensic psychological testing and evaluations of felony criminal defendants, diagnosing mental disorders, providing clinical supervision to trainees and testifying in court regarding psychological evaluations.  The Court Psychiatric Clinic is a busy facility preparing over 700 Competency to Stand Trial and a similar number of Sanity at the Time of Act evaluations of felony-level defendants annually.  The position requires the candidate to have a doctoral degree (Ph.D/Psy.D) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program; Ohio Psychology license (or obtain license within 6 months of hire); completion of an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship; minimum of 1 year of forensic training and/or experience; and forensic post-doctoral training is a plus.  All candidates are subject to a criminal background check and drug test.  Forward a resume, letter of interest and forensic report sample to Gregory M. Forensic Psychologist Needed:

The Netcare Forensic Center in Columbus, Ohio has a full-time position opening for a forensic psychologist.  The position involves conducting various types of criminal forensic evaluations (primarily competence to stand trial and sanity), preparation of professional reports, and occasionally serving as an expert witness. There are no clinical treatment obligations or on-call responsibilities. The position includes a competitive salary and benefits package. 

The Netcare Forensic Center serves an 11 county region in the state of Ohio, performing criminal forensic evaluations at the Common Pleas, Municipal, and Juvenile Court levels. We complete approximately 700 such evaluations per year. We have 2 board certified ABPPs among our salaried staff, 2 more who are independent contractors, and several more at various stages in the board certification process.
