Event Description
The Course Objectives and Syllabus for this course are directly related to additional information augmenting doctoral training in psychology by evidence-based data underlying the new field of positive psychology. Current information on the neuroscience of the production of behavior by the brain through perception, thinking and attention, emotions, and memory is covered in detail. Current and advanced evidence-based studies by resilience, well-being, and happiness psychologists such as Emmy Werner, Martin Seligman, Christopher Peterson, Ed Diener, and Sonja Lyubomirsky will be presented on emotions and moods, positive and negative emotions and their impact on happiness, the nature and extent of the effects of acute and chronic stress on psychological well-being, the nature of resilience in stress management, how happiness relates to overall life satisfaction and subjective well-being, and ways to improve overall happiness and optimism for a good and full life.
